Learning Intention
We are learning to build self-talk sentences that are truthful and useful.
Biblical Big Idea
Paul points our thinking towards what is true, not just what is comfortable. Helpful self-talk is honest first — it names what really happened, then chooses words that help us keep going.

ABOUT THIS LESSON
Building truthful, useful sentences to say to yourself. The lesson helps students build self-talk sentences that are truthful and useful.
TEACHING INSIGHT
Paul points our thinking towards what is true, not just what is comfortable. Helpful self-talk is honest first — it names what really happened, then chooses words that help us keep going.
FACILITATION FOCUS
Distinguish helpful self-talk from false positivity. The sentence must be truthful enough to say on a difficult day and useful enough to guide a next action. Emphasise the sequence event → thought → feeling → chosen action, and help students see that the first harsh thought is not always the most accurate guide.
