ABOUT THIS LESSON
Attend, reflect back and ask one question that truly helps. The lesson helps students attend, reflect back and ask one question when a friend is upset.
TEACHING INSIGHT
Scripture puts listening before speaking. Being quick to listen is one real way of loving a friend well.
FACILITATION FOCUS
The main application is “Emotion-word ladder”, where students move from discussing the idea to trying it in a concrete example. Keep returning to the takeaway: “Listening is not fixing. Attend, reflect back, and ask one honest question.” Look for whether students move from advising or fixing to attending, without being handed the phrase.
